Ignoring the locals living in the destinations we visit as we book Airbnbs, crowd streets, behave badly, and generate waste that will stay in our destination long after we leave.
The world is Family. Really?
This ancient emotion of India of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is very much used nowadays in India to attract favors from other countries and people. However, they smart or opportunist to desert you when you need them. Nevertheless, the verse is not known well to most of them, nor is followed by the most. The meaning of the first line is often sidelined which is more important.

"This is mine and that is other's, is the thought of narrow-minded people.
Broadminded people consider (and respect) the whole world (thus others, their country, their religion and their people) as a family."
-- Hitopadesh (Sanskrit Literrature, 1.3.71)
If Modi, Trump, Putin, Xi Jinping and Netanyahu read this verse carefully they wouldn't act extremely selfish and hate, jail or even kill others who do not belong to them. Leaders who feel insecure try to eliminate others who are not in their line. In this verse the word "own" emphasizes to own country, religion and people while "other's" refers to the country, religion and folks of other people.

As we yearn to reconnect with friends, family, and the world at large, I think that what we’ve gone through has also given many of us a chance to reflect on all the things we took for granted: the outdoors, community, neighborhood restaurants, and the arts.
